7.      Adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Eucharist.

C.C.C. 1374:  ‘The mode of Christ's presence under the Eucharistic species is unique. It raises the Eucharist above all the sacraments as "the perfection of the spiritual life and the end to which all the sacraments tend" (St. Thomas Aquinas, STh. III, 73, 3c).  In the most blessed sacrament of the Eucharist "the body and blood, together with the soul and divinity, of our Lord Jesus Christ and, therefore, the whole Christ is truly, really, and substantially contained" (Council of Trent (1551): DS 1651). "This presence is called 'real' - by which is not intended to exclude the other types of presence as if they could not be 'real' too, but because it is presence in the fullest sense: that is to say, it is a substantial presence by which Christ, God and man, makes himself wholly and entirely present’ (Paul VI, MF. 39).

C.C.C. 2628:   ‘Adoration is the first attitude of man acknowledging that he is a creature before his Creator.  It exalts the greatness of the Lord who made us (Cf. Ps. 95:1-6) and the almighty power of the Saviour who sets us free from evil. Adoration is homage of the spirit to the "King of Glory," (Ps 24, 9-10) respectful silence in the presence of the "ever greater" God 9Cf. St. Augustine, En. in Ps. 62, 16: PL 36, 757-758).  Adoration of the thrice-holy and sovereign God of love blends with humility and gives assurance to our supplications’.

Apostolic Letter, Dominicae Cenae  Mystery and Worship of the Eucharist, paragraph no. 5. Pope John Paul II, February 24, 1980:

“Eucharistic worship constitutes the soul of all Christian life. In fact, Christian life is expressed in the fulfilling of the greatest commandment, that is to say, in the love of God and neighbour, and this love finds its source in the Blessed Sacrament, which is commonly called the sacrament of love[…….]

Eucharistic worship is therefore precisely the expression of that love which is the authentic and deepest characteristic of the Christian vocation. [..….] A living fruit of this worship is the perfecting of the image of God that we bear within us, an image that corresponds to the one that Christ has revealed in us. As we thus become adorers of the Father "in spirit and truth,"(Jn. 4:24) we mature in an ever fuller union with Christ, we are ever more united to Him, and—if one may use the expression—we are ever more in harmony with Him”.

Introduction.

Eucharistic devotion is an essential part of the spiritual life of the members of the Divine Innocence Family, which includes families, single and married people, religious, and priests. The Catechism of the Catholic Church n.1324. tells us: ‘The Eucharist is ‘the source and summit of the Christian life’ (LG 11) ‘For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch.’  We strive to make all we do a fitting offering to Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament*, a perpetual adoration and where ever possible to go to daily Mass or more often than once a week.

* The Blessed Sacrament, Holy Communion and the Eucharist all refer to Jesus’ Real Presence, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity which we receive in Holy Communion. See CCC. nos. 1328 – 1332: ‘What is this Sacrament called?’.

28th May 1985.

Patricia.  Our Lord referred to the closing of so many churches during the day.  He feels that His people could do better to defend Him rather than close the church, to arrange watches, if necessary all day:

Jesus.  What graces will be given to those who defend their God in this way; by watching and keeping the churches open at all costs!  The more churches the devil gets to close the better he likes it.

Jesus.   Remember, when I look on you I am pleased with you.  I look upon you with great pleasure.  I do not see your failures, your weaknesses.  I only know you are here and wish to please Me and long to be with Me.  Your very concern not to offend Me endears you to Me and My heart leaps with love and joy at your coming.

Patricia.  I was so overcome by the love and joy that was pouring into me from Our Lord that in the end He had to stop because I could not bear it.  He had to restrain Himself because I couldn’t bear the joy he was pouring into me.

1st June 1985.  Night Vigil before the Blessed Sacrament.

Jesus.  What graces are being poured out on you all at this vigil!  Each thing you give Me is a treasure to Me, nothing is wasted.  Your weariness while trying to honour Me and your Mother, I use to atone for those who never weary of ignoring Me and all the overtures I make towards them.  The prayers that give you no sensible joy give infinite joy to your God and to your Mother.  Remember, this Mother is our Mother, yours and Mine, together we must console and love her.  All your difficulties given to Me for love’s sake, are flowers of adoration.  When you try to please Me you delight My Mother.  When you honour the Universal Mother of God you draw down My special love into your lives and into your hearts.  Remember, what often seems to you failure is to Me fragrant acts of love.  You need only glance at Me in your tiredness or your pain, in your darkness or in your doubt, in all manner of trials, and My loving thanks pours out on you like a silver river of light.  It is easy to lift your heart to Me in joy, but the faithful heart is tested and proved in the way of the cross!

9th June 1985.  Wimbledon. Church of the Sacred Heart.  Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

Our Lady.   When a child is wounded it wounds the mother.  See my Heart.  When you are wounded, distressed and unhappy, I take upon myself your wounds, distress and unhappiness.  My heart is in deep sorrow for you and with you.  I present your sufferings to the Heart of my Son.  I share your sufferings with Him.  Everything is healed and made new. Where?  Here in the Divine Presence!  Where else can I direct you but to the source of healing and salvation which has its centre in the most Holy Eucharistic Presence?  Both my Heart and the Heart of my Son direct you to the Eucharist.  The Eucharistic Hearts of Jesus and Mary rejoice when a sinner repents and goes to Confession.

17th June 1985.

Jesus.  See how I humble Myself for you and how I am treated.  Men think only of their comfort and own convenience.  How many think of Mine?  Patricia, I, the God of all creation, must wander the world in search of souls who will allow Me to rest in them, to love them.  I have so much Love for men but will they allow Me to show it?  Will they give their homeless God a home in their hearts?

11th July 1985.  Before the Blessed Sacrament.

Jesus.  You can’t imagine what joy you give Me by your presence.  Do you know what it means to My Eucharistic Heart to have the company of the ones I love?  When love is not satisfied it pines for its love.  You are My love – each soul on earth.  You are here.  You have come.  What graces are being poured out on you!  Even these humble jobs draw down so many graces.  (Patricia. Our Lord referred to the lady who was cleaning the church and arranging the flowers)

5th January 2001.  Eve of the Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord. Nazareth House.

Patricia.  I was spending some time in quiet adoration before the Blessed Sacrament in the Chapel.  The crib scene was set up alongside the Tabernacle and a Crucifix stood close by, Our Lord began to give instruction.

Jesus.   You see before you in all three places (the crib scene, the Blessed Sacrament and the Crucifixion behind) incarnation, adoration and reparation on all three levels.

Patricia.  Reparation is Christ dying on the Cross, His Eucharistic Passion and the Child Jesus fleeing from Herod.  In the Blessed Sacrament, adoration is obvious but some are too busy to make time to visit Our Lord.  When we receive Our Lord in Holy communion He is incarnational in us; the life of Christ being born in us.  Sometimes we make reparation when we are tired, sick or feeling dry.  Our Lord suffers a Eucharistic Passion when He is neglected, ignored or ill treated in His Real Presence.  Just as in the Garden of Gethsemane, Our Lord knows that the flesh is weak though the spirit is willing.  There are many places in the world where, like the Kings who visited Him in secret, Our Lord continues to remain hidden from the danger of evil men. However He finds ways to be with men though remaining hidden.

The Crucifix – Calvary, is reparation though some do not understand it to be so.  Even beneath the Cross among the crowd, Christ had secret adorers along with Our Lady, St. John, Mary Magdalene and the other women.  Even today, Christ has secret adorers.  Everything flows from the Cross of Crucifixion.  People should contemplate these three scenes; the birth of Christ, the Crucifixion and the Blessed Sacrament – contemplating the Incarnation, Reparation and Adoration and the reason why Our Lord came to us, sanctification.

26th August 2000(ii).  Definition of Real Presence.

Patricia.   Lord, are there not modern words to describe the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament at Mass after the bread and wine has been consecrated by a validly ordained priest and reserved in the Tabernacles of the Holy Catholic Church?

Jesus.   Absolute reality of God made present in the person of Jesus on the altars of the Catholic Church.
